A long time a go…in winter of small town, Bourney city. There  were two little smart girls. They were Keisya and Anne. They were 13 years old. Although they were orphan. They never gave up to facing their difficult life. And they also had nice dream to study in some school. They lived together in their little house.

Well, Keisya was very beautiful child. Unfortunately, she couldn’t see this nice world, or she was blind that didn’t made her confidence and just have little spirit to live. Difference with Keisya, her friend, Anne was very active girl. So, she could be the biggest motivation of Keisya to live in her dark world.

In the corner of that town, Keisya sat there. With her little noise, she said,”Excuseme…Mom…Sir...match…please! Please…Mom…Sir!”. Then, there was a rich woman who wore a nice dress came to Keisya and said,”Hi, dear. How much does it cost?”. Keisya answered,” It’s just 25 cent, Mom. Will you?”. The woman said,”OK.1 please. Dear, are you orphan?”. Keisya answered,”Yes, I’m. Anyway, this is your match, Mom.” But Keisya gave her match on the opposite place with the real position of the woman. It made the woman shocked and said,”Oh my god. Are you blind too? What a pity! I’m sorry dear. Firstly, I want to adopt you. Because you’re beautiful girl. But it’s embarrasly for me to adopt a blind child, like you.”. Then the woman just went away quickly without did her great plan. So, it made Keisya sad and cried. Her tear fall, same with the snow which fall beside her.

Suddenly, Anne came and said,” What’s up, Keisya? Why do you cry? Anyone who beat you? Why do you look so sad? Are you sick?”. Keisya said,”No...No...Anne! No one beat me, no one touch me. And I’m not ill!”. Anne said, “So, what’s going on?”. After that, Keisya told to Anne about the rich woman who bought the match. Then Anne commented Keisya’s story “Is it right? But you know what? I think. She’s the most stupid woman in this world.”. Keisya said, “Really?”. Anne said, “Off course! I believe that just a stupid one if she fails her great plan to adopt you, my friend.”. Keisya said,”Thanks. Anne!”. Anne said,”yeah, your welcome.”. After that Anne told her funny story to made Keisya happy again. And finally, Keisya could laugh and forgot her sad.

After they were silence in that place, Anne asked to Keisya,”hmmm...Keisya, can I offer something for you?”. Keisya said, “What is it?”. Anne said, “I want to promise to you.”. Keisya asked,”Promise, what?”. Anne said, “I promise to you that I will make you can see this wonderful world.”. Anne asked,” hmm...but how you can do that?”. Anne answered, “I’ll enter some school. Then, I’ll study hard there. So, after I graduate from that school, I can work with higher salary. I also will collect money as much as possible to send you in the best hospital in the world with the best doctor too. So, that we can enjoy this nice world together.”. But Keisya just took it as a joke. Then she laugh and said,”hahaha... are you kidding? Hey, wake up, guys! And keep you dreaming.”. Anne said, “I’m not kidding Keisya. I’m serious!”. And Keisya said,”oh...really! OK, I’ll take your promise as your best friend. But I’m so tired and sleepy now. Let’s go home, friend!”. Anne said,” yaeh...I think so.hah…….”.

However, in that time, education or to study in some school was very expensive. Because to bought the tools for studying, such as: book, pen, pencil was very expensive too. But, those two little children still had big spirit to get their better education. They didn’t stop to learning anything. Especially Anne, she always came in the library town in her spare time in order to have enough knowledge for her obsession.

One day, the best school in this town, Gryffindor School, gave announcement to all children that ‘THE POOR ONE WHO HAVE THE TOOLS TO STUDYING COULD REGISTER TO JOIN THE EXAMINATION OF ENTERING GRIFFINDOR SCHOOL IN THE SUMMER’. The school did it, because they had economic problem. They also had changed their way of thinking to try teaching the poor child who had potential to study there.

After playing with her others friends, Anne went home. On the way, she found this announcement paper. Then she said,”Hey, what is it?”. After read it, she ran to home with her nice smile. Arrived in her little house, she shouted to Keisya,”Keisya..Keisya...Come here! I have important information to us.”. Keisya said, “What’s it?”. Then Anne said, “Can you guess it?”. Keisya said, “No. please, tells me. What do you get, Ann?”. Anne answered, “I get information that Gryffindor School will accept the poor child who has the tools to studying as a student there in the next summer examination.”. Keisya responsed,”But for what? We have no money, Ann.”. Anne said, “yes, but we will have it soon.”. Then Keisya know what Anne’s think was. And they sing a song together to celebrate that nice information.

Therefore, the spirit of those two children could increase. And from this way, the struggle of those two girls would be start. They also decided to collect money by work hard for buying that school’s tools.

Anne just played everyday. Now, she tried to work as labour in the Port. With her higher spirit, she moved many big smell fish boxes from container to the Market Fish in this Port, one by one. She never felt her tired even though it was so heavy or her. Even, she was the youngest and the smallest labour in the Port. She always starts to work from 06.00 in the morning and finish at 06.00 in the evening.

And Keisya who usually sell her match by sitting under the tree. Now, she tried to offering her match by walking around the street in order to sell her match more. Although it was difficult for her. Because she could not see anything and should use her stick to walk.

One month later...the money from their effort was enough. But it just was enough for buying 1 book and 1 pen and the time was over, and the summer would come soon. So, it was meaned that the one of those two children must give this opportunity to another one.

Thus, Keisya said, “Anne, you have to use this money.”. But Anne said,” No, I can’t. It’s your money too.”. So, this problem made them fight about who will use the money to enter Gryffindor School. Finally, the conflict could be over by saying of Keisya,”An, do you remember your promise?”. Then Anne said, “But…”. Before Anne continued her answer, Keisya stopped her by closing Anne’s mouth and said,”Sssstt...You know, Ann. This opportunity is useless for me. Even if I have many knowledges. I can’t see it. I can’t practice it. So for what? And I really want you to use it, please…for me, your best friend and for your promise, Ann.”. Then Anne cried and said,”OK...I’ll take it. But it just because my promise to you and to keep our friendship, Keisya.”. After that, they could smiled and laugh together.

In the morning, Anne went to store to buy the tools. Because the last registration was tomorrow. On the way to the store, she looked so happy and smiled. Moreover, she imagined, some how that she could realize her dream to study in Gryffindor School. And some how she could be success in the future and could do her promise to Keisya.

Before Anne open the door of the Store, there was a thief. And he stole Anne’s money. Then Anne shouted,”Hey!!! Don’t steal my money!”. The thief still ran as quickly as possible to brought Anne’s money. Even though Anne ran to catch him. But, she still missed him. So, it made Anne gave up and forgot her plan.

However, she still thought on how she could get these tools quickly. Then she remembered the thief and said,”Hey…I have and idea. If the man can get money quickly by stealing, why I can’t do like that?”. Thus Anne decided to steal the school’s tools in that store.

Unfortunately, after she succeed take the tools. There was a man shouted,”Hey! You! Why do you enter this book in your bag? You haven’t paid it.”. Then, without said anything. Anne ran and brought the tools. So that it made people around there to catch Anne. Anne ran and ran in order to free from the people.

Finally, Anne could arrive in the other side of the street where Keisya sat. After that Anne crossed the street to meet Keisya and shouted,”Keisya! I’ve gotten the tools!”. But in the middle of the street, there were a car which clashed Anne.’GUBRAAAK!!!’. Without know anything, Keisya said, “Anne…..have you come?”. And because of the accident, Anne was death.

But before Anne death, she gave message to someone who helped her. When she was death-agony, she said to him, “Sir…plea..se…gi..ve…this…to..ols…to…my…fri..end, kei..sya, who..sell…match…across…this…street…and…say…to …her…that…I’m sorry.”. And the man said,”Yes, I’ll. Dear.”.

Although Keisya could see anything. But, she still felt and heard that there was something happened. Then Keisya came to the crowding in front of her. With her she started to walk and said,”Excuseme, what’s happened here?”. But no one answered her. Because the people knew, Keisya would be sad if she knew what was really happened with her best friend. Keisya said, “Anybody will tell me, please!”. Finally, the one of the people said, “Be patient, Keisya!”. Keisya asked, “Why, Mom?”. The Woman said, “Your best friend, Anne have an accident. And she has death now.”. Keisya shocked and shouted, “No…no! It’s impossible! Then She sat beside Anne’s body and said, “Anne…wake up, wake up! Don’t leave me! You’re layer if you leave me alone.”

In the next day, after Anne was death. Keisya looked have no spirit to live. She just cried and cried every time. As usual, she sold her match under the tree. Suddenly, there was a man asked her, “What’s the cost of your match?”. Keisya answered, “Just 25 cent, Sir.”. The man said,”OK, 1 please. Anyway what’s your name?”. Keisya answered, “I’m Keisya”. Then the man asked again,”Are you Anne’s friend?”. Keisya said,”Yes.right, Sir. But where do you know Anne?”. The man answered, “I’m the doctor who helped Anne’s accident.” Keisya said,” Really?”. The man said, “Sure!”. And Keisya said,”Ow...thank you, Sir.”. The man answered, “Don’t mention it. That’s my duty, dear.”

Then, the man gave something to Keisya and said, ”It’s yours. from Anne And she also want to say sorry to you. But, I don’t know, why she said like that?”. Keisya responsed,”What’s it? By the way, I know what’s the forgiveness for? The man said, “It’s a book and a pen.”. Then Keisya said, “You know why, Sir. She said sorry. Because she had lie me. She had promised to me that she’ll make me see this wonderful world and enjoy it together. But now, she has left me alone and don’t care about me”. Then Keisya continued her cried. So, the man said to Keisya to stop her crying, “Can I replace Anne to realize her promise.”. Keisya said, “How you can do that?”. The man answered, “I’ll adopt you as my child, will you?”. Keisya said,”ha..ha..ha..It’s impossible. I’m a blind child. It’s not good for you to adopt me. The man answered,” ha..ha..ha...it’s easy for me. As you know, I’m a doctor. And I’ve kept Anne’s eyes for your operation Keisya said, “Are you serious?”. The man answered, “Yes, with my pleasure, dear.”

Finally, Keisya could be a normal child and could smile again because of the great plan of the doctor. And she also could enter in Gryffindor School and cold see the wonderful world as her dream.

One day, she came to Anne’s grave by bringing some flowers and said, “I, Anne…I just want to say thank you for your entire struggle. You know what, Anne. Even though you have death, but your promise can be realize now. And though you’re not here. But you still live in my deeply heart as my best friend forever……….”

defrAGMenTasI oTak untuk MENGATASI MASALH BELAJAR

Diskusi masalah kecerdasan manusia, tentu tidak bisa tanpa menyinggung masalah otak manusia, karena disini awal segala kisruhnya. Kapasitas otak manusia sangat besar, bahkan ada yang menyebut tidak terbatas. Hanya sayangnya orang biasanya hanya menggunakan 1% dari otaknya, sedangkan orang jenius berhasil menggunakan 4-5% otaknya. Lha kok bisa? Dan bagaimana supaya kita juga bisa jadi cerdas? Ikuti terus tulisan ini.

Otak manusia tersusun dari neuron-neuron yang jumlah totalnya mencapai 1 trilyun. Walaupun kecil, konon kabarnya satu neuron itu memiliki kecepatan pemrosesan yang setara dengan satu unit komputer. Adam Kho lewat bukunya “I am Gifted, So Are You” mengatakan bahwa otak itu apabila dituliskan dalam bentuk digital akan menjadi tulisan sepanjang 10.5 juta kilometer. Ketika jarak terjauh bumi dan bulan itu sekitar 406.720 km, maka kapasitas otak kita setara dengan 25 kali perjalanan dari bumi ke bulan. Tambahan informasi lagi, dari buku Super Great Memori dikatakan bahwa, jika setiap detik dimasukkan 10 informasi kedalam otak kita sampai 100 tahun, maka otak manusia masih belum terisi separuhnya. Ada beberapa peneliti yang mencoba mengkuantifikasi kapasitas otak, ada yang menyebut 3 terabyte, dan ada juga yang menyebut mencapai 1000 terabyte.

Sedemikian dahsyatnya kapasitas otak kita, tapi sayangnya kita hanya menggunakan kurang dari 1%nya. Dan orang jenius seperti Albert Einstein, konon kabarnya juga hanya menggunakan 5% dari seluruh kapasitas otaknya.

Artinya apa? Manusia memiliki kapasitas otak yang sama, yang implikasinya adalah sebenarnya kita semua memiliki daya tangkap terhadap suatu materi pembelajaran sama. Dan tidak ada manusia bodoh di muka bumi ini!

Lha kok, tapi di kelas ada yang cerdas dan ada yang tidak? Itu karena sistem retrieval (pencarian kembali) manusia berbeda-beda. Orang yang cerdas itu adalah orang yang memiliki sistem retrieval yang baik. Seperti sebelumnya saya sebutkan diatas, kapasitas otak manusia mungkin mencapai 1000 terabyte, bayangkan seandainya laptop kita berkapasitas 1000 terabyte, pasti lambat melakukan pencarian file, apalagi kalau letak fisik filenya tidak tertata dengan baik alias terpecah-pecah di berbagai tempat dalam harddisk kita.

Trus gimana caranya supaya sistem retrievalnya bagus? Ada banyak cara komputasi yang bisa dilakukan, paling tidak untuk mengatasi informasi yang tidak tertata dengan baik, kita menggunakan tool defragmenter. Defragmentasi? ya, lakukan defragmentasi pada otakmu!

Sebagai catatan, kata wikipedia, defragmentasi adalah sebuah proses untuk menangani berkas-berkas yang mengalami fragmentasi internal. Sebuah berkas dikatakan terfragmentasi mana kala berkas tersebut tidak menempati ruangan yang saling berdekatan dalam penyimpanan fisik. Fragmentasi dapat menyebabkan subsistem media penyimpanan melakukan operasi pencarian data yang lebih banyak, sehingga dengan kata lain berkas terfragmentasi dapat memperlambat kerja sistem, khususnya pada saat melakukan operasi yang berkaitan dengan media penyimpanan.

Jadi ketika kita menerima materi pelajaran, sebenarnya kita semua berhasil menangkap semua yang diajarkan oleh guru atau dosen kita. Namun ada yang kita simpan di bumi dan ada yang terlempar di bulan, inilah yang disebut dengan fragmentasi itu.

Trus gimana caranya supaya kita bisa mendefragmentasi otak kita? Caranya adalah dengan mengulang-ulangi pelajaran. Mengulang-ulang pelajaran, itu sama saja dengan menarik materi yang terlempar di bulan tadi supaya mendekat ke bumi, sehingga lebih cepat ketika kita mencari kembali. Dan ini sesuai dengan yang dikatakan Adam Kho, bahwa orang yang cerdas adalah orang yang neuron-neuronnya saling tersambung (neuron-connection). Semakin banyak hubungan antarneuron, maka semakin cerdas kita dalam suatu bidang. Kecerdasan itu bisa kita latih!

Sayapun tidak terlahir secara default sebagai orang cerdas, masa TK-SD saya pernah mengalami kendala sulit membedakan huruf b dan d. Sampai ada satu ungkapan guru saya yang masih saya ingat sampai sekarang, “Rom, b itu yang bokong(pantat)nya dibelakang, dan d itu yang bokongnya di depan“. Ada juga guru yang menyebut saya terkena disleksia kompleks, plus ditambahi dengan anak yang suram masa depannya hehehe sempurna deh

Jadi? Kalau saya yang disleksia kompleks saja bisa, kenapa anda tidak?

Wahai pedjoeangku, ulang-ulangi pelajaran, banyak mencoba, banyak membaca, banyak berlatih, telani satu persatu hal yang belum kamu pahami, hubungkan neuron-neuronmu, maka kecerdasan akan mengikutimu …
